Mike Bailey: I Love What I’m Doing Now, But It’s One-Tenth Of What I Plan On Doing

“Speedball” Mike Bailey hasn’t even touched the surface of what he can do.

The Canadian has recently become a key featured star in TNA in recent year. This followed a spell in the wilderness after visa issues stopped him wrestling in the United States. This allowed him to focus on learning new styles in places like Japan and Great Britain.

He is now part of “Speedball Mountain” alongside Trent Seven in TNA. He is one of the most popular stars in the company, and could be a future world champion for the promotion.

The Canadian wrestler recently spoke with Sports Illustrated about his current work in TNA. He claimed he’s had “breakthrough moments” his whole career, and cites Nic Nemeth as a great example of someone similar.

However, Speedball is only doing one-tenth of what he wants to in his career. This could indicate big things in the future for Mike Bailey, in Impact and beyond.

“I feel like I’ve had breakthrough moments my entire career. You still see the biggest stars in wrestling having breakthrough moments. Nic Nemeth is a fantastic example. He was doing one thing for many, many years, and now he’s doing something completely different.

“I haven’t accomplished anywhere near what I want to do. While I love what I’m doing right now–it’s very fulfilling–it’s only one-tenth of what I plan on doing.”

Nic Nemeth thought about keeping ‘Dolph Ziggler’ link, opted for ‘clean break’

‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey Wants To Maximize His Minutes In The Ring

Mike Bailey continued. He spoke about he loves wrestling in different styles, and notes the six-man tag team matches he competed in Japan. He recently teamed with Matt Hardy and Trent Seven against The System at TNA Under Seige.

Bailey also noted how the biggest fun in wrestling is maximizing your minutes, which he plans to do going forward.

“In Japan, where the model is very different, six-man tags are much more common, especially in the main event. I think they’re absolutely awesome. I love that about wrestling–all the different styles.

“That’s the fun of pro wrestling, maximizing your situation. TNA shows are so packed. You can’t let one go to waste. “I think I’m the best in the world at my style. I’m looking forward to maximizing my minutes.”
