Sheamus Is Done With Gunther After Three Straight Losses: ‘There Ain’t Gonna Be No Quadrilogy’

It looks like Sheamus has had enough of losing to Gunther.

The pair have fought one-on-one three times in WWE so far. The first was in the five-star classic match at Clash at the Castle, which saw Gunther defend his Intercontinental Championship in one of the best matches of the year.

The next one took place on Smackdown in October, with the third match on Raw this week as part of the King of the Ring tournament. Gunther won each bout, stopping Sheamus’ dream of becoming a grand slam Champion.

Gunther also defeated both Sheamus and Drew McIntyre in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 39. Clearly, those losses have taken a big toll on Sheamus, as he says “no more” to a bout with the Ring General.

User “ProWFiness” posted on Twitter, calling Gunther vs Sheamus “The greatest trilogy of the Triple H era”. Sheamus responded to this, claiming that there would not be a fourth iteration of the bout.

However, he did take a dig at Gunther in the Twitter response. He claimed that Gunther actually tapped out and cheated to win the match, and called the Austrian “dim-witted”.

“There aint gonna be no quadrilogy so 3-0 is the final tally. I am done. Some will argue he tapped, he used a weapon, he had outside interference.. ok! give him bragging rights, I fought fair & with honour. Those who cheat to win are only fooling themselves & the dim witted. “

Sheamus already made the claim that there would not be another match the day prior. Soon after the bout on Raw, he posted a photo of his bloodied chest on social media. Giving it as an example of the hurt Gunther can cause, he simply captioned the photo “there will be no part 4”.
