Two WWE announcers are set to essentially trade places.
Corey Brennan of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Mike Rome is set to start announcing for NXT. This will mark his return to the brand, as he previously announced there from 2016 to 2019.
In recent years, Alicia Taylor has been the lead announcer for NXT, and she has filled in on the main roster when needed. Brennan reports that Taylor is slated to get called up to the main roster after Backlash, alongside Rome’s move to NXT.
Per Brennan, there is no word on which brand Alicia Taylor will announce for. Samantha Irvin has been the lead announcer on WWE RAW.
Irvin has drawn plenty of praise during her time in the company up to this point. Former ring announcer Lilian Garcia recently spoke highly of her. Check out her comments here. Michael Buffer also praised her in a tweet.
Another report provided more information about the new lead producer of NXT following Kevin Dunn’s departure.
