Kevin Owens Reveals He Has Nine Months Left On His WWE Contract

Kevin Owens does not have long left on his WWE contract

The former Universal Champion signed a three-year contract with the company back in 2021. This was amid interest from AEW, and came during a time where a number of wrestlers jumped ship to Tony Khan’s promotion.

Owens’ loyalty was rewarded, and he was given two WrestleMania main event matches and a bout with the legendary “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. However, his deal is up again soon, and the Canadian’s future is up in the air.

Kevin Owens spoke with Metro before Backlash in France, where he teamed with Randy Orton in a defeat to the Bloodline. He revealed that he has nine months left on his current WWE contract.

Owens also noted that he doesn’t know what his future holds. He claimed he is not taking anything for granted, and that the loss of a number of wrestlers have put things into perspective. He likely referred to Brodie Lee, Bray Wyatt and Jay Briscoe, all of who passed in recent years.

“I really don’t take anything for granted, I’ve nine months left on my contact, and I don’t know what can happen from here on out.” Kevin Owens said.

“That’s just life. If I’ve learned anything over the last few years, it’s that nothing is guaranteed. I’ve learned that through some very unfortunate events, we’ve lost so many good people that was never expected.”

‘That’s just one example of how I do not take anything for granted. How I look at things now.’

Kevin Owens Calls WWE His Home

Despite not being sure about his future, Kevin Owens still feels strongly about the WWE.

He called the company his “home”, while noting that he is very close with people behind the scenes. These include Sami Zayn, his lifelong friend and former tag team partner. He also name-drops Finn Balor as someone else he is close with.

“This has been my home for 10 years and it’s beyond the locker room. It’s good to have somebody to bounce around, somebody you trust,’ he said. ‘When I got here, I got really close with Finn Balor right away, and I could tell this is gonna be a guy I could trust, and now he’s like a brother to me. We might not be together all the time, me and Sami are on different brands, so we don’t see each other as much. We’re always in contact and when it comes along, we have a sounding board.”
