Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson has reportedly been released by WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Gable Steveson was among the names released by WWE yesterday afternoon.
The former college athlete from Minnesota signed a multi-year deal with WWE back in 2021. During that time, Steveson only had a handful of matches with WWE, with the only televised one being against Baron Corbin at NXT Great American Bash last year.
Steveson worked four dark matches on SmackDown in 2024 but hasn’t competed for the company since February 9, when he defeated Cedric Alexander.
In addition to Steveson, the company released 11 other names yesterday, including:
- Boa
- Darrell Mason
- Drew Gulak
- Emmamaria Diaz
- Ezekiel Balogun
- Gable Steveson
- Julian Baldi
