Nic Nemeth Wins AAA Mega Title At AAA TripleMania XXXII: Monterrey

Nic Nemeth has won the gold.

El Hijo del Vikingo previously relinquished the AAA Mega Championship due to injury. AAA announced that a new champion would be crowned at AAA TripleMania XXXII: Monterrey on April 27. There, Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler in WWE, battled Alberto El Patron for the vacant title.

Ahead of the match, El Hijo del Vikingo officially relinquished the championship and said he would win it back upon his return. Nemeth went on to defeat Patron to win the gold.

Nemeth has been working for TNA and NJPW in recent months. He is the reigning IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion; he will defend the title at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku on May 3. Nemeth unsuccessfully challenged Moose for the TNA World Championship at TNA Rebellion.
