Cameron Grimes Announces He Has Been Released By WWE

Cameron Grimes has been released by WWE.

Cameron Grimes took to Twitter/X on April 23 and announced that he had just gotten off the phone with WWE, and he had been released. In a tearful message, Grimes thanked WWE and said that he loved working there. He said that all he wanted to do was work, and the release lit a fire under him.

WWE released several talent due to budget cuts last week, so it appears that Grimes was part of this group.

Grimes signed with WWE in 2019, and he had a lengthy, successful run on NXT. He won the NXT North American Championship and held the Million Dollar Championship. He moved to the main roster in the 2023 WWE Draft but was used sparingly. In his last match with the company, Grimes lost to Bron Breakker on the April 12 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Before he signed with WWE, Grimes, then known as Trevor Lee, had a remarkable run in TNA. He held the X-Division Championship three times and the World Tag Team Championship once.
