Goldberg On Potentially Joining AEW: The Product Is Too Cheesy, Not A Chance

Don’t expect to see WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg in an AEW ring any time soon.

In an interview with 93. 7 The Ticket, Goldberg was asked whether he had ever spoken with AEW CEO Tony Khan about potentially working for the company.

“I’ve talked to him a number of times throughout the past, and I’ll be, this is where you’re gonna get the most blunt answer you’re gonna get from me,” Goldberg said. “The product’s too cheesy. The product is too cheesy. It doesn’t deserve to have…I mean, whatever. [Laughs] Now you’re really gonna get me going.

“If there was a comparable, viable option as a competitor that would allow me to still look myself in the mirror after I was a member of their roster, yeah, then it would be a consideration. But not a chance.”

In 2023, Tony Khan said that he was paying attention to Goldberg’s free agency, and he had spoken with the former Universal Champion. The veteran has been a free agent since his WWE contract expired at the end of 2022. Fans have not seen him wrestle since he lost to Roman Reigns at WWE Elimination Chamber 2022.
