Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite will now feature a title match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
During tonight’s episode of AEW Collision, Don Callis and Powerhouse Hobbs shocked the world by announcing that Hobbs intends to cash in favors owed to him by New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Callis claimed the favor was due to him helping broker the deal that resulted in Kenny Omega taking on Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 12. As a result, Hobbs’ match against Jon Moxley on Wednesday will now be for the title.
Moxley initially won the championship just last week at NJPW Windy City Riot against Tetsuya Naito. Moxley then appeared on the April 17 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he faced Hobbs in the ring and challenged the man to a match.
The updated card for the April 24 episode of AEW Dynamite is as follows:
