WWE SmackDown Viewership Decreases On 4/19, Tops The Night On Network TV

WWE SmackDown‘s viewership decreased on April 19.

Per Wrestlenomics via Programming Insider, SmackDown averaged 2.333 million viewers on Friday. This number is down from last week, when the show averaged 2.499 million viewers.

In the 18 to 49 demographic, SmackDown averaged a 0.63 rating. This also marks a decrease from last week (0.76 rating). SmackDown still topped the night on network television; it was up against NBA Play-In Games (Pelicans vs. Kings and Heat vs. Bulls).

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with a number-one contender’s match for Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship, which saw AJ Styles defeat LA Knight to earn the match at Backlash.

Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga attacked Kevin Owens as Paul Heyman was powerless to control the situation.

The Street Profits won a fatal four-way match to earn the right to challenge A-Town Down Under for the WWE Tag Team Titles.

The main event for the WWE Women’s Championship between Bayley and Naomi ended in a disqualification when Tiffany Stratton interfered and laid out both women to close the show.
