NXT Stand & Deliver: Ilja Dragunov vs. Tony D’Angelo Result

Ilja Dragunov defended the NXT Championship at NXT Stand & Deliver.

Ilja Dragunov put the NXT Championship on the line against Tony D’Angelo at NXT Stand & Deliver. D’Angelo previously beat former champion Carmelo Hayes to earn a shot at the gold.

D’Angelo had a special entrance video that paid homage to The Sopranos.

Once the bell rang, the two competitors threw everything they had at each other. They went back and forth in a hard-hitting bout. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo got involved, but D’Angelo was determined to fight on his own. Dragunov sent D’Angelo through the broadcast table with an H-Bomb. D’Angelo rallied with a flurry of offense. In the end, Dragunov hit the Torpedo Moscow and a Super H-Bomb for the win. Dragunov and D’Angelo shook hands after the bout.

Here’s how the match broke down, courtesy of our play-by-play coverage:

Dragunov puts D’Angelo on the commentary table and hits him with another H-Bomb, which flattens the table beneath both men. The champion tosses D’Angelo back into the ring and hits him with a senton, goes for the cover but D’Angelo kicks out at two.

Dragunov goes to the top rope, but D’Angelo catches him as he comes down in a powerbomb. The champion and challenger exchange moves back and forth until Dragunov goes to the top rope and hits the Super H-Bomb to retain his title.
