Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano want to make a statement on multiple levels at WrestleMania 40.
WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard spoke with Ciampa at WrestleMania 40 media day. Ciampa previously said that the goal for his NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2020 attire was to get it turned into an action figure.
He said that being looking good is always important, then said DIY’s gear this weekend in Philadelphia is very “toyetic”, in his opinion.
“We do have fun gear coming out for WrestleMania that’s brand new. I think that it’s very toyetic. Yeah, you think about [making a statement with ring gear] especially the big [events]. You want to have memorable outfits,” Ciampa said. “Macho Man’s style, [Ultimate] Warrior’s style, Rey [Mysterio] was great at that. Shawn [Michaels] was great at that.”
Could he offer a tease of what he and Gargano will be wearing?
“Yeah, we’ve got a nod to DX, is what we’re doing. So it made sense with Re-Generation X and what it’s doing, and then what Shawn and Hunter have done for us in NXT. It was a cool little thing that we could put together, and we’re happy with it.”
