Anthony Henry’s release from All Elite Wrestling was not a popular one. However, it looks like he’ll be able to return to the company once he’s cleared from injury.
All Elite Wrestling made several talent cuts on April 1, one of which was Anthony Henry. Fans questioned the decision, considering Henry was recently sidelined with a broken jaw.
During the ROH Supercard of Honor media call, Tony Khan was asked if he could share some insight on Henry’s status. Khan noted how Henry broke his jaw on an independent wrestling event, adding that injuries could have a ripple effect on AEW/ROH programming.
However, he says he spoke with Henry and worked something out, sharing that Henry is welcome to return to AEW/ROH when he is cleared.
Henry made his debut in the company during the September 11, 2011 AEW Dark tapings. More recently, he worked in a tag team with JD Drake called “The Workhorsemen.”
After the announcement on the call, Henry posted the following statement on Twitter:
“What a week! Obviously, I was not happy with what happened earlier in the week. However, I am estatic about being back! I believe in the locker room at AEW and cannot wait to be back in action. To those who voiced their support for me this week: thank you from the bottom of my heart. I never knew that what I do impacted so many. I’ve never had anyone rally behind me like that. It is an unreal feeling. I love you all. See you soon!”
