Nick Khan Teases Possibility Of Future WrestleMania Events Being Held In Late April

Nick Khan looks ahead at WrestleMania 40, and beyond.

For professional wrestling fans, WWE WrestleMania is equivalent to the Super Bowl. As such, WWE often looks toward larger venues, such as stadiums, to maximize the amount of tickets sold for the grand event. This year’s WrestleMania showcase will emanate from the open-air Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

During a recent appearance on The Town With Matthew Belloni, WWE President Nick Khan was asked why he specifically pinpointed Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field as the venue for the upcoming WrestleMania 40. In response, Khan revealed that this location was locked in before he joined WWE in the summer of 2020.

“This may sound self-contradictory, but I try not to be an ‘I, me, my’ guy. This was the last WrestleMania deal that I inherited. So this deal has been in place for over four years,” Khan said. “We’re excited to be going to Philadelphia. We’ll be there April 6th and 7th.”

Future WrestleMania Events

Looking ahead at WrestleMania 40, many fans have raised concerns about the open-air element of Lincoln Financial Field. While inclement weather is not expected in Philadelphia, forecasts predict this weekend’s temperatures to linger in the 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit range – a range that many may view as undesirable for outdoor spectating, especially for a prolonged period of time.

Given these aforementioned concerns, Nick Khan teased the possibility of hosting future WrestleMania events toward the end of April, rather than earlier in the month. Or, as an alternative, Khan suggested the idea of securing venues enclosed by a roof.

“[We’re hoping to have WrestleMania 2026] indoors or maybe a little later in April,” Khan said. “We’re going through that now. Too much outdoor, early April [WrestleMania events].’
