‘Sami Zayn & Friends’ Comedy Show Announced for ‘Netflix is a Joke’

Sami Zayn is having a big week.

The WWE Superstar is set to face Gunther at WrestleMania 40. He will challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, with a chance to end the Austrian’s near-two-year-long reign with the belt.

However, after that, he is dipping his foot into the world of comedy. Sami Zayn announced on Twitter that he will be performing a comedy show at the upcoming ‘Netflix is a Joke‘ entertainment festival.

The show is titled “Sami Zayn & Friends”. It gives Zayn the chance to dip his toes in the water of comedy for the first time. He looks to be following fellow wrestlers Mick Foley and Nic Nemeth by switching the ring for the stage.

Zayn announced the show in a Twitter post. The former NXT Champion wrote:

“So excited about this! I will be doing a live comedy show as part of @NetflixIsAJoke
Festival in LA. Tickets go on sale Friday 4/5. PRESALE tix available TOMORROW, Thursday 4/4 with Promo code: SAMI @LiveNationCmdy”

“Sami Zayn & Friends” will take place on Saturday, May 11, at 7:30 pm local time in Avalon, Hollywood, CA. You can purchase tickets for the show on Ticketmaster here.

Sami Zayn Loves Wrestling, And Not For The Money

Sami Zayn was recently interviewed by Josh Martinez, where he spoke about his love for wrestling. The Canadian claimed he would be wrestling even if money was not a factor, showing how much he loves the business.

“Don’t know [Why I do this]. I don’t know. It just… Just is what I do. I don’t know. I mean, I just love it, I love it. And even if money wasn’t involved this is… If money didn’t exist, I don’t want to say not involved because it’s a different story now. But, this deep into the game and at this level and all that… But if money didn’t exist, this is still what I would want to do.

“If this was some sort of Utopian Society, where I don’t know what… Just that these constructs didn’t exist and it was just based purely on what would you do for enjoyment, it would be this. So I don’t really have a… I don’t know, I just love it. At this point, it’s been so long it’s kind of like, I don’t want to say it’s all I know, but it’s just what I like to do. It’s what I’ve liked to do for a long time.”
