There have been several wrestlers who have jumped different professions to become a professional wrestler finally. Many have tested their luck in American Football and then turned out to have solid careers in the world of wrestling. Some of the top stars who fall under this category are Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Baron Corbin, Roman Reigns, AJ Francis and many more.
Outside of WWE, the current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Moose was also an NFL athlete who became a successful professional wrestler.
Recently, Moose took to Twitter to make a bold claim. He was convinced that he is the greatest American Footballer turned professional wrestler. The TNA World Heavyweight Champion also was convinced that he is the face of the Nashville-based promotion.
“I AM the Greatest NFL player turned Wrestler. I AM THE FACE OF THE FRANCHISE #TRUSTTHESYSTEM,” Moose tweeted.
Moose reflects on how NFL helped him in his professional wrestling career
Mr. IMPACT Wrestling was recently interviewed by Adrian Hernandez on his UNLikley podcast. During the interview, Moose shared his experience as an NFL Player and also how it benefited his wrestling career.
“The biggest thing that the NFL helped me with going into wrestling was discipline. I think thats the thing the NFL, and football in general, college, pros, high school, teaches you is discipline. It’s like, you’re on a fixed schedule. You have to be at practise at this time, and you can’t be late! And you have to be on the field at this time, and you can’t be late. And if you are late, there’s consequences. If you have treatment and don’t make it to treatment, you’re gonna be late. And if you’re late to treatment, you get fined. There’s consequences.”
“It helped me with wrestling in setting my schedule and being disciplined enough. Stick to my schedule that I created for myself when I decided to become a wrestler. So I think thats the biggest thing I took from football. Not only to wrestling, but just in life in general,” Moose said.
