Report: WWE NXT Battleground 2024 Changing Dates, Venue

WWE’s NXT Battleground looks set to change dates this year.

The event was slated to take place on May 26th in Savanah, Georgia. However, recent reports indicate that the event will actually take place two weeks later.

It was originally reported by WrestleVotes that NXT Battleground would be moved. They wrote on Twitter that the event would now take place on June 9th. It is also set to move venues, with the UFC Apex in Las Vegas set to host it. WrestleVotes wrote on Twitter:

Hearing rumblings of a significant schedule change, I’m told the NXT Battleground event will be moving off May 26th to June 9th. With the location shifting as well as Savanna, GA will no longer host the show. NXT Battleground will take place live in Las Vegas at the UFC Apex.

This report was corroborated by PWInsider, who confirmed that the event would be switching dates. However, they did not report on the change in venue.

The WWE has not officially announced any change of date or venus for NXT Battleground. If it is moved, it will be less than a month before NXT Heatwave. That event is scheduled for July 7th, and it would be unusual to put on two big NXT events so close together.

Shawn Spears Jumped At The Chance Of NXT Return

Speaking with Fightful‘s Sean Ross Sapp, Shawn Spears revealed that he jumped at the chance of returning to NXT, and why he decided to come back to the WWE after five years away.

“Once the opportunity came to come to NXT, I jumped all over it. There’s gonna be people watching this right now that are saying, ‘Why wouldn’t you want to go to Raw? Why wouldn’t you want to go to to SmackDown?’ NXT is also killing it,” Shawn Spears said. “I have been here for a couple weeks now, and I have seen talent that has blown me away. What I love about that is that it takes me back to when I first started training, or it reminds me of my time here in the Performance Center, being in the spot that they’re in right now, knowing where they’re gonna have the opportunity to possibly go, the things that they’re gonna go through, I’m able to help guide in that sense too, with my time here at the Performance Center.

“My responsibilities at WWE are a little more than just in the ring. That is something that I don’t take lightly, and that is something that I am massively interested in. At the end of the day, what it boiled down to, after a conversation with my wife, I get to wake up every morning and see my son, and play with him and do whatever I need to do, and then I get to be home in my bed, sleeping beside my wife.
