CM Punk Will Be On Commentary For World Title Match At WrestleMania 40

CM Punk‘s role at WWE WrestleMania 40 has been confirmed, as he will be on commentary for the World Heavyweight Championship match.

CM Punk returned to RAW for the first time since January on March 25. Punk has been sidelined with a torn triceps that he suffered in the Royal Rumble match, but he has been working hard on his recovery. Punk came to the ring, much to the delight of his hometown Chicago crowd. He jumped up on the broadcast table and soaked in the cheers.

Punk said he had a lot that he wanted to say. He stated that he would be at WrestleMania 40, but he was not cleared to compete, as his elbow was not 100%. Punk noted that he could be a host, a commentator, or a referee. He said that a lot of people kept talking about him, and he brought up Roman Reigns’ comments about him. Punk predicted that he and Reigns would see each other soon.

He then targeted Seth Rollins and expressed his frustration that Rollins mocked his injury. Punk noted that The Rock had not said a word about him, and maybe that was because he remembered what happened the last time they clashed. Punk brought up Drew McIntyre and told him to get his “bitch ass” in the ring.

McIntyre recalled stomping Punk’s arm. Punk reiterated his challenge to McIntyre.

Drew called the moment divine intervention and kept trolling him. McIntyre then said that he did not hate CM Punk; instead, he said that Punk completed him, as he motivated him. Punk dared McIntyre to get in the ring and called him a coward. Punk laid down, but McIntyre still refused to get in the ring. Drew said that he wanted Punk to have a front-row seat at WrestleMania.

He said that he was the chosen one, and Punk wondered who chose him. At one point in the exchange, McIntyre quipped that Punk did not drink or do drugs, but he still spent all his time in rehab.

Punk noted that the fans in Chicago had not chosen McIntyre. McIntyre invited Punk to be the guest commentator for his title match at WrestleMania 40. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins interrupted, and he got in CM Punk’s face.

Rollins noted that it was his show, and Punk said that may be the case, but it was his city. Rollins took a shot at Punk for not being in the title match. He then asked the crowd if they wanted to see CM Punk be the special commentator.

The crowd chanted “referee”, and Punk said that he could not be fair with these two “dipshits.” Rollins said that he did not think about Punk at all. He told Punk that he did not care what he did at WrestleMania, but he noted that the irony of Punk witnessing his greatest hour was not lost on him. Rollins told Punk that the match was the closest he would get to the title again. Punk then said that he would be on commentary for the title match between Rollins and McIntyre at WrestleMania.

Rollins ended the showdown standing tall, as he dropped McIntyre with a kick while he talked some trash to Punk. The champion then hit McIntyre with a Stomp/
