Two teams are one step closer to competing at WWE WrestleMania 40.
Tournament action continued on the March 22 episode of WWE SmackDown, as Grayson Waller and Austin Theory faced The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson). The O.C. showed their tag team expertise, but Waller and Theory scored the upset. Waller broke up a Magic Killer, and Theory rolled up Gallows and put his feet on the ropes to clinch the win.
As a result, they advanced to the next round of the Tag Team Championship SmackDown Tournament.
Later in the show, The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) faced the Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) in another tournament match, as Ford scored the win with an inside cradle.
On the other side of the bracket, Legado del Fantasma (Berto and Angel Garza) will face New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne). Legado defeated the LWO, while New Catch Republic beat Pretty Deadly to advance to the next round.
Both matches were announced for the March 29 episode of WWE SmackDown. The winners will earn a spot in the Six-Pack Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 40.
