ECW Legend Rhino has acknowledged the recent changes in TNA management.
The company recently fired its President, Scott D’Amore, after successfully rebranding from IMPACT back to TNA. This caused much discussion across the wrestling world. Some wrestlers reportedly asked for their release from the company, while many others were shocked at such a popular personality being let go.
While this wasn’t ideal, the Man Beast is still doing his best despite the change.
Rhino revealed to Monopoly Events (via WrestlingInc) that the new change in TNA management “sucks”. However, he noted that you have to embrace the change and move on.
“It sucks that there’s a change in management, it’s unfortunate. Sometimes in life as a veteran in wrestling, you have to be a leader in the locker room. It’s like, OK let’s see how this thing rolls out with new management, and let’s put our best foot forward, and let’s do what we do and kick ass.”
“Sometimes people don’t like change, but sometimes you have to embrace and then see where it takes you, and then if it’s not for you, just move on. Hopefully, for the wrestling business, it continues to move forward because a lot of good wrestling promotions out there are good for the wrestling business.”
Steve Maclin Wants To Stay In TNA Beyond His Current Contract
Despite the behind the scenes turmoil, people still want to stay in TNA alongside Rhino.
Former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, revealing that he wants to stay with TNA beyond his current contract, which expires in May.
“Yeah. I know that my deal’s up in May with TNA. I would love to stay. I’ve let management know that I’ve been enjoying my time here and loving my time here,” Maclin said. “But it’s one of those things where it’s going to come down to a choice of what’s best for me and my family.
“So, right now, I am focused more or less on just this Friday in Windsor,” he added. “[I’m] taking things one match at a time. But I know that I have a lot to prove as well for them to come back at me with an offer to stay. So, that’s on me.”
