Matt Cardona Is Willing To Un-Retire From Death Matches To Face Mick Foley

The self-proclaimed ‘Death Match King’ Matt Cardona has been claiming to have retired from competing in Death Matches. The former WWE Superstar is now claiming that he will put on his Death Match wrestling boots one more time if his opponent would be Mick Foley.

A while ago, the WWE Hall of Famer and Hardcore legend mentioned that he wants to compete in one final match when he turn 60 years old. Mick Foley also mentioned that he would have to lose 100 pounds and wanted to compete in a Death Match.

“Just to put it out there, Conrad — 60 is right around the corner. I’m thinking of doing one final match for my 60th birthday. Death match,” Foley stated. “I’m not kidding. I think it would be a great incentive to drop those 100 big ones [pounds]. And I think it might be fun.”

Since then, Cardona has been volunteering to be the one to end Mick Foley’s career. During an interview with Sports Illustrated, the self-proclaimed Indy God claimed that Mick Foley versus Matt Cardona in a Death Match would be perfect and the biggest match in Independent Wrestling history.

“It’s no secret I’ve been politicking for this match,” said Cardona. “Go back to the Hammerstein ballroom a couple years ago, I was wearing a flannel that said ‘F— Mick Foley’. If he wants a deathmatch, it would only be fitting to have one against the deathmatch king. It would be the biggest match in the history of independent pro wrestling.”

Recently Cardona told a fan that he would be coming out of his ‘Death Match retirement’ to compete against Mick Foley.

“I have retired from DEATHMATCH wrestling. But I will come out of retirement to end Mick Foley,” Matt Cardona tweeted.
