Adam Copeland loves coming back to wrestle in Canada.
The WWE Hall of Famer is set to do battle with Christian Cage on AEW Dynamite tonight. The pair do battle in a street fight for the TNT Championship. Hopefully, putting an end to their rivalry once and for all.
That match takes place in Edge’s hometown of Toronto. This led to him appearing on SC with Jay Onrait to discuss AEW. He also revealed why he enjoys coming back to wrestle in his home country.
“I always enjoy coming back [To Canada]. One thing I’ve always said about Canada that I absolutely love about Canada. I can be in St Johns, I can be in Victoria and I’ll be treated like a hometown boy. There’s just – nobody else can say that.
“The guys from the states will have, like, their home state or their home city. I got a home country. Its always good to get back up here and also to get to see friends that I have throughout the country that I don’t get to see that often, because I don’t get out to Calgary that often.
“I love coming back. There’s just something to be said for the feel when you come back to your home.”
Adam Copeland’s Daughter Convinced Him To Sign For AEW
In the same interview, the former Edge revealed that it was his daughter who convinced him to sign for AEW over WWE.
Adam Copeland revealed the opportunity to wrestle with Christian Cage was too much for him, or his family, to pass up.
“It really does. Even that night, I wasn’t sure. I didn’t have an answer. I think everybody wanted an answer. But I just didn’t have it yet.
I knew I’d need to get home and sit with it and I really wanted to talk to my ladies, you know? All three of them.
And it was my daughters. They said it, and it was my oldest, Lyric, who said ‘go and have fun with uncle Jey [Christian Cage].’ And I went ‘You’re right’ and here we are. We’re not gonna have fun on Wednesday, though.It’s gonna get ugly.”
