A few weeks ago, WWE announced that the first person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2024 was Paul Heyman. Recently, former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Rob Van Dam shared his thoughts on who should induct the Wiseman into the Hall of Fame.
While speaking on the One of A Kind podcast, RVD mentioned that he would be open to inducting Paul Heyman.
“[I] think they could definitely find somebody better than me. It would be an honor and of course, if I was nominated and asked to do it, I would give it my best. And I think I would want input from other wrestlers too, that I think should have got picked probably over me. I mean, [Tommy] Dreamer, Bubba [Bully Ray/ Bubba Ray Dudely], Taz. Those guys… They know Paul a lot more than I do. They were in New York. I would see them on the weekends. They would see him all week through. And they were there in the office, in the production studio helping move the TV forward. Also with the merchandise and just booking towns.
“Everything! They really worked with him. And so there’s that. And then even before ECW, he managed a lot of wrestlers and some of them could probably tell some good stories about Paul transitioning from being the fan that was selling programs to the camera guy to actually managing talent. Or however. I don’t know franchise, Shane Douglas, I’ll put him in my list. And I don’t know what their relationship is. But that’s how I feel about it. I’ll be honored. Of course I would do it. And I would want input from everyone else and I feel like I only knew one, maybe two sides of Paul,” Rob Van Dam said.
