AEW has announced the start date for the tournament that will crown new AEW World Tag Team Champions.
As announced during the March 9 episode of AEW Collision, the tournament to crown the new AEW World Tag Team Champions will begin on the March 16 episode of Collision. AEW has yet to confirm the bracket or the participants in the tournament.
Tony Khan previously announced that the titles were vacated at the AEW Revolution post-show media scrum. The news came after Sting and Darby Allin successfully defended the gold against the Young Bucks at the pay-per-view. The bout marked Sting’s last match, as “The Icon” retired.
On Saturday’s episode of Collision, former champions FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) were confronted by The Infantry (Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean) as they expressed their intent to win the gold.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
