Michelle McCool has refused to say she wants to return to the ring, although she claims she would not say no a Royal Rumble return.
The former WWE Women’s and Divas Champion retired in 2011, but returned for three separate women’s Royal Rumble appearances (in 2018, 2022 and 2023). She also wrestled in the 20-Woman Battle Royal at the historic “Evolution” pay-per-view in 2018, which was won by Nia Jax.
She has not wrestled full-time since 2011, and was coy when talking about potentially returning to the ring again, on the Six Feet Under podcast with her husband, The Undertaker,
“I wouldn’t say want. I could, I mean, I would probably not turn down a Rumble. Y’all are talking about me getting into a singles match, don’t get it twisted,” McCool said. “You’re gonna have to have the kids backstage with you, like I always do!”
McCool last wrestled a singles match at Extreme Rules 2011. She was defeated by Layla in a “Loser Leaves WWE” no disqualification match.
Michelle McCool Has Talked About Match Against Charlotte Flair
When asked if discussion over a potential match against Charlotte Flair had taken place, the former Divas Champion confirmed that they had discussed the possibility
She claimed that she had casually talked about the possibility of the bout. However, she gave the WWE Universe the responsibility of suggesting the bout to WWE management.
However, she noted that she may need to recruit Layla to help her win the match. The pair previously wrestled together at LayCool, and were co-Women’s Championship together in 2010.
“Casually. Not like… in interviews, she’s said it. I’m sure I’ve said. But nothing serious. It’s normally like the WWE universe that puts it out there on social media,” McCool said. “I might need Layla by my side to handle young Charlotte and her superb athleticism.”
