A major star is reportedly set to appear on the March 6 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that, per sources in Japan, Kazuchika Okada traveled in the United States last weekend, and he is still there. Johnson writes that the expectation is that Okada will debut as an official member of the AEW roster on Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite.
Tony Khan has said that Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite will be the start of a new era. An appearance by Okada would line up with that claim. The seven-time world champion was one of NJPW’s top stars for years, and he wrapped up with the company in February. He has reportedly been expected to land in AEW since NJPW first announced his looming departure.
An appearance by Okada would not be his AEW debut, as he has appeared Dynamite before. Okada made multiple AEW appearances through NJPW’s working relationship with the company. He last wrestled in an AEW ring on the October 25 episode of AEW Dynamite. There, he and Orange Cassidy lost to Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castaganoli.
WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on March 6.
