AEW will introduce a new set on the March 6 episode of AEW Dynamite. Tony Khan says the show will mark the beginning of a new era for the company.
Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reports that AEW will debut a new set on the March 6 episode of AEW Dynamite. AEW CEO Tony Khan commented on the news.
“Tonight is the perfect time, especially coming off an amazing AEW Revolution,” Tony Khan said. “In many ways, it was the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one. Sting ended his phenomenal three-year run in AEW and the most iconic career in wrestling, going out on the highest of notes as an undefeated AEW tag team champion. So tonight is the start of a new era, and people are going to be very excited when they see this new set on Dynamite.”
AEW Head Of Global Production Talks AEW’s New Set
Speaking with Barrasso, AEW’s Head of Global Production Michael Mansury discussed working with Khan and his team on the new set.
“When I joined AEW in November of ’22, there was already a change in the works coming for Dynamite,” Mansury said. “That started in January of this year with a brand-new set and brand-new graphics package, and the reception was pretty mixed to it. But something was missing.
“The company has a very rich history despite being a five-year-old brand, and Tony has a wonderful sense of history. We did a throwback episode of Dynamite for Dynamite 200, and the reception was pretty big. Tony really listens to our fan base, and there was a call to go back to the roots of AEW.”
Mansury also commented on making the new set bigger. It will reintroduce the tunnels, and it will also include LED components and a standalone LED board on the stage. Mansury then noted that the team at Warner Bros. Discovery was part of the process, and he highlighted AEW’s “great” relationship with them.
Tony Khan On AEW’s New Era
Tony Khan also reiterated that Wednesday would mark the beginning of a new era. He shared his belief that fans would be excited about the new set.
“Fans are first and foremost for AEW, and I think this is something they’ll be really excited for,” Khan said. “Dynamite is the best show in pro wrestling. You’re going to see new stars on a new set in a whole new era for AEW.”
Khan went on to state that it would be a very important night for AEW on TBS.
WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on March 6.
