Sammy Guevara has been suspended by All Elite Wrestling, according to a new report.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Sammy Guevara is serving a suspension that is linked to his match against Jeff Hardy, which aired on the February 16 episode of AEW Rampage.
Sapp writes that concussion protocol was not followed in the match, which led to Guevara hitting his finisher on Jeff Hardy after the latter suffered an injury. Per Sapp, this should not have happened, according to AEW sources. The report notes that additional details are unclear, and there is no word on how long Guevara will be suspended. Sapp states that Guevara did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
This marks Guevara’s third suspension during his time in AEW. He was previously suspended for making controversial comments about Sasha Banks. Guevara was later suspended for a backstage incident with Eddie Kingston.
Sammy Guevara is a three-time TNT Champion. He only recently returned to AEW after he was sidelined with a concussion for the majority of the fall. After his return in December, he missed a few weeks in January and early February with another injury.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
