Sting describes what it feels like when he comes down from the rafters.
Earlier in his career, Sting often came down from the rafters during his time with WCW as he waged war with the New World Order. He stopped doing the entrance as time went on, but he brought it back for his final AEW Dynamite appearance ahead of his retirement match on February 28.
In an interview with Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Sting commented on his classic entrance and noted that, in those moments, his sphincter muscle gets tight.
“You climb and step over that rail, and it’s like, ‘It’s time to let go now,'” Sting said. “I used to say my sphincter muscle gets very tight in those moments. And it does.
“It can be scary. I had one little pang when I was up there. It was like a 30-second pang when I realized I’m getting ready to do this here again. We’re having this casual conversation. ‘All right, you ready to go?’ I’m ready. Let’s go.”
In his last match, Sting and Darby Allin will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against the Young Bucks at AEW Revolution.
WrestleZone will have full coverage of AEW Revolution as it airs on March 3.
