El Hijo Del Vikingo To Undergo Surgery For Ruptured Ligament & Torn Meniscus

It’s been a rough month for AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo.

On February 17, Vikingo had a match stopped at Arena Lopez Mateos after landing awkwardly on his knee. Following the match, reports suggested the injury was serious and Vikingo would require surgery.

Vikingo provided an update on his injury via his  Instagram stories to reveal that his injury is a torn meniscus and a ruptured ligament. These injuries will require surgery, which he is having later today.

The status of the AAA Mega Championship is currently up in the air, but we imagine that AAA will end up vacating the title in the near future.

The extremely talented 26-year-old had a standout 2023, competing across multiple promotions beyond his home promotion in AAA, such as All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor, TNA, Game Changer Wrestling, and many more.

On behalf of everyone here at WrestleZone, we wish Vikingo a speedy and complete recovery.
