Charlie Dempsey: The WWE NXT UK Heritage Cup Means More Than Any World Title Here

Last night on WWE NXT, Super Nova 11 Noam Dar defended his NXT UK Heritage Cup against Charlie Dempsey of the No Quarter Catch Club in the main event.

Early on in the first round, Dempsey managed to pick up the first fall. But then, in the third round, Noam Dar managed to tie things up. In the fourth round, Dempsey got his second fall and picked up the win and the NXT UK Heritage Cup.

Following the win, Dempsey was interviewed by Sarah Schreiber. During the interview, Dempsey shared that he had been waiting for over three years to finally fulfill his dream.

“This cup right here means more than any World Title here. Ever since I signed with WWE three years ago as part of NXT UK, I’ve had my eyes on this cup. I finally did it. I’m finally the Heritage Cup Champion. Three years in the making and I’ve got it,” Charlie Dempsey said.

Drew Gulak also shared his appreciation for Dempsey’s win. Gulk reflected on the growth of Dempsey and was extremely proud of him and the rest of his faction.

“So, Charlie, I’ve known you about eight years now, right? I met you before even I started working here at WWE. I’ve seen you go from behind the scenes, to not having a foot in the door, to becoming one of the most dominant professional wrestlers I’ve ever experienced in my career. I am so proud of you, I know these boys are proud of you too. I’m proud of each one of you guys, okay? I came here [to WWE NXT] a year ago looking to assemble a team, like-minded individuals, right? Strength in numbers. And now we’re here. With the Catch Clause we made that happen. You [Charlie Dempsey] made that happen, each one of us. And we’ll show no mercy, we’ll show no pity, we’ll show no quarter,” Drew Gulak said.
