Will Ospreay‘s arrival in AEW has been announced.
Will Ospreay was revealed as AEW’s blockbuster signing at AEW Full Gear in November. However, he did not join the company immediately. Instead, he wrapped up his commitments with NJPW, which concluded at NJPW New Beginning in Osaka on February 11.
During the February 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, the company confirmed that Will Ospreay would appear live on the February 28 episode. This will mark his first in-person appearance as a contracted member of the AEW roster. Ospreay is set to face Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Revolution on March 3.
Ospreay was one of NJPW’s top stars; he is a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and a two-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion, among other accolades. He wrestled for AEW multiple times through the company’s working relationship with NJPW. Most notably, he defeated Kenny Omega at Forbidden Door 2023 and Chris Jericho at AEW All In.
