A new report provides an update on Josh Alexander‘s contract with TNA Wrestling.
As TNA announced on February 20, the company exercised their one-year option on Josh Alexander’s contract.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Josh Alexander’s deal would have been up on February 14 if TNA did not exercise the option year. In that case, Alexander would have been a free agent. Now, Alexander’s deal is set to expire on February 14, 2025. At that point, barring another extension, he will enter free agency.
Per Sapp, injury time was not added to Alexander’s contract, as he was working backstage and as a producer while he was out hurt. Additionally, Sapp writes that Alexander had requested that TNA not pick up his option.
The former world champion was said to be open to negotiating a new deal. However, he wanted to “survey the landscape” if he could. That being said, TNA exercised the option, and Sapp writes that the company is not concerned about him meeting his obligations and working hard.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
