MLW Burning Crush Results – February 17, 2024
Tonight’s MLW Burning Crush special kicked off with a video package running down what happened at MLW Superfight, which featured surprising title changes and returns.
Former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Kane walks out onto the stage with a microphone. Kane says this is way harder than he thought it was going to be. Kane says when he started the Bomaye Fight Club, he did it for himself, but the fans brought love and passion to every fight that he had.
Alex Kane says Bomaye Fight Club changed into a movement that was so big that he couldn’t even imagine. Kane says Bomaye is for the people. Kane says when he lost the championship, he let himself down. But what hurts him the most is he let all of the fans down.
Kane says he’s always been a straight shooter, and he’ll always tell the fans the truth. Kane admits he doesn’t know what’s next for him and says it’s time for him to step away from Major League Wrestling. Mr. Thomas comes out and says Kane is a lot of things, but he’s not a quitter. Thomas says over the last three years, Kane has put Bomaye on the map. Thomas says the people have never given up on him, and Bomaye is for these people.
Mr. Thomas says the hard work starts today and asks him if he wants his title match or if he wants to go on vacation. Kane says he wants the title back. Thomas says then it’s time to get to work. Kane says Bomaye is forever.
AJ Francis interrupts Alex Kane
AJ Francis shows up on the Tron and says he’s the hottest free agent in the world. Francis says he’s proud of Kane, and his title reign was nothing short of spectacular, and he’s here to give him his flowers. Francis says he wants to know when he’s gonna get his. AJ believes he would be a better representative for the company than Kane is.
Alex Kane says Francis interrupted an important moment to spew some trash. Kane says he doesn’t play games and calls Francis a ho. Kane says he’s gonna run through him because he can’t clear him like he couldn’t clear the top rope. Alex promises to take down Francis just like he takes down everyone else who has joined the World Titan Federation.
Tony Deppen, TJ Crawford, and Griffin McCoy defeated Wasted Youth and Nolo Kitano
- Tonny Deppen hit Marcus Mathers with a shining wizard to the back of the head to score the pinfall victory for his team.
A video package plays from The Calling. Rickey Shane Page says to never meet your heroes. Sami Callihan says Raven is a false prophet. Page says Raven is a shell of his former self. The Calling promises to make everyone bleed.
A video package plays hyping Bobby Fish’s return to Major League Wrestling at Intimidation Games on February 29.
We hear from Matt Riddle who calls out anyone from New Japan Pro-Wrestling to show up to face him at Intimidation Games later this month.
Salina De La Renta joins the commentary team for the next match.
Zayda (w/ Brett Ryan Gosselin) defeated Tiara James, Notorious Mimi, and Delmi Exo
- Zayda hits Notorious Mimi with “I’m Prettier” (Unprettier/Killswitch) to score the pinfall victory.
Bad blood is rising in the Featherweight division at MLW Burning Crush
Salina De La Renta attacks Delmi Exo after the match, and they have to be separated by a bunch of referees. Zayda gets on the microphone and says she’s the Queen of the whole Featherweight division. Zayda says she’s coming for the championship.
Salina gets a microphone and says she knows she has access to MSL’s wallet, but no amount of money will get her wrestling skills or a title shot. Brett Ryan Gosselin gets on the microphone and says Salina is just jealous that she’s not as gorgeous or skilled as Zayda. Gosselin says Zayda is a queen and Salina is a peasant.
Salina asks Gosselin if he’s seen the new Barbie movie and reminds him that in the end, Ken never gets laid. Zayda says at least Brett doesn’t go around using his mouth to get what he wants. Salina says she understands why someone like Zayda who has no skills would think that’s the only way to get things in life. Salina tells Zayda to be careful what she wishes for and calls her a bitch.
A video package plays hyping up tonight’s match between Jacob Fatu and Mads Krügger,
Jake Crist defeated MLW National Openweight Champion Rickey Shane Page via disqualification
- Sami Callihan attacks Jake Crist which results in the DQ.
Akira and Cannonball get involved after the match. Crist ends up putting Cannonball through a table.
Filthy Tom Lawlor (w/ MSL) defeated Matthew Justice
- After interference ringside from MSL and 1 Called Manders, Tom Lawlor hits a spin kick on a seated Matthew Justice to score the pinfall victory.
Matt Riddle’s opponent for Intimidation Games is revealed
Tom Lawlor puts MSL over on the microphone after the match for fighting against all the odds. The crowd hates every second of it and boos them loudly. Matthew Justice dives out of the ring and knocks Tom Lawlor down.
It’s announced that Matt Riddle will face Big Bad Tito at MLW Intimidation Games.
Cesar Duran comes out on the stage and announces that Mistico, Barbaro Cavernario, and Atlantis have joined Azteca Lucha. Duran begins to run down Salina De La Renta which brings her to the stage. Salina says if you’re gonna talk shit about her, to say it to her face. Duran runs down all the reasons that Salina is upset.
Salina says she has videos of Duran crying and pissing himself. Duran says those videos don’t exist and she’s just scared that he’s regaining power in Major League Wrestling. Duran convinces Salina to agree to have Rocky Romero defend his title against someone from Azteca Lucha.
Brett Ryan Gosselin (w/ Zayda) defeated Love, Doug in a Lumber Jack and Jill match
- A distraction from Zayda leads to Brett Ryan Gosselin hitting Love, Doug with “I’m Prettier” to score the pinfall victory.
A video package plays recapping the overall history of the Contra Unit faction that has recently returned to Major League Wrestling.
Blue Meanie joins the ranks of Jake Crist, AKIRA, and Raven in a weird backstage vignette.
COZYMAX (Satoshi Kojima and Okumura) defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr and Richard Holliday (w/ MSL)
- Satoshi Kojima hits Richard Holliday with a lariat to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Is this Jacob Fatu’s last match in Major League Wrestling?
Mads Krügger defeated Jacob Fatu in a Baklei Brawl
- Mads Krügger hits Jacob Fatu with Scorched Earth to score the pinfall victory.
Krügger brings out the Hit Squad, and they put Jacob Fatu in a bodybag as MLW Burning Crush goes off the air.
