Steve Austin On Wrestling Again: Never Say Never

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is keeping an open mind.

After 19 years away from the ring, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin made a triumphant return to compete on The Grandest Stage of Them All — WrestleMania. The match in question occurred at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, where the “Texas Rattlesnake” battled Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match. Given his subsequent victory against Owens, many wrestling fans have been eager to know if Austin would consider lacing up his boots one more time.

While another match is far from guaranteed, Austin attests that he would not rule it out as a possibility. “I said I’d never get in a ring again unless all the stars aligned,” Austin told ESPN. “And for some reason, somehow, they all did. And at the age of 57, I headlined the first night of WrestleMania. I never thought I’d do that. If you’d have told me that when I retired in [2003], I’d have said, ‘You’re crazy.’ So I’m not gonna sit here and say no to anything, because you never say never in this crazy business of sports entertainment.”

Prior to WrestleMania 38, Austin last wrestled at WrestleMania 19 in a near 18-minute match against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Much like Austin, it seems that The Rock may be nearing an in-ring return of his own as he currently finds himself entangled in a story revolving around The Bloodline and Cody Rhodes.
