Tony Khan confirms that there will be a third Forbidden Door event, and he wants CMLL to be involved.

AEW and NJPW have co-promoted the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in 2022 and 2023. In recent weeks, AEW has increasingly featured CMLL talent on their programming as the working relationship between the two companies continues to grow.

During an appearance on SportsGrid, Tony Khan was asked whether he could see CMLL being involved in Forbidden Door 3.

“100%, yes,” Tony Khan said. “I definitely want CMLL involved in practically anything we do. They’re such a great partner already. It’s been great. It’s our first year of the partnership, and we’ve been able to some really exciting things working with them, and very excited to bring the CMLL wrestlers to Las Vegas this weekend [for AEW Collision].

Khan was also asked whether he still sees a heavy NJPW presence at a potential Forbidden Door 3. He made it clear that there will be a Forbidden Door 3, and AEW’s partnership with NJPW is still going strong.

“Yes, 100%,” he said. “There will be a Forbidden Door 3. The AEW/New Japan partnership is 100% here to stay, and Forbidden Door, a collaboration between AEW and New Japan, here to stay.”
