Bully Ray is sending a clear message to those on social media who send professional wrestlers death threats.
This morning on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray spoke about the recent issues NXT General Manager Ava has been having on social media. Ray issued a statement to “fans” who sent her death threats that resulted in her deleting her account.
“I don’t want to go down this negative road, but I do feel the need to mention this and remind people of this,” Bully Ray began. “The Rock’s daughter had to delete her social media account, delete her Twitter, over death threats based on scripted sports entertainment. Allow me to remind everybody that is listening right now: my friend Hana Kimura killed herself because of social media bullying.
“We don’t need death threats towards wrestlers because of scripted sports entertainment. People have to be in such fear of what they’re reading they have to delete their accounts. You want to say I hate you as a wrestler. Or I don’t think you’re a good GM, or your dropkick sucks, or blah blah blah, whatever. Death threats towards wrestlers because of professional wrestling? Dear God, that’s it. That’s all I got.”
For those unaware, Ava deleted her social media account this week. This was due to death threats and backlash from her father, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, seemingly taking Cody Rhodes’ spot against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
