Becky Lynch Opens Up About The Process Of Writing Her Autobiography

Becky Lynch describes the process of writing her autobiography.

Next month, wrestling fans will have the opportunity to take a further glimpse into the life and career of WWE Grand Slam Champion Becky Lynch as she releases her autobiography, Becky Lynch: The Man (Not Your Average Girl). In preparation for her book launch, Lynch sat down with her husband Seth Rollins for an interview on LiveSigning’s Never Before Told. There, Lynch discussed the process of putting this book together while juggling other responsibilities such as being a mother, being a wife, and wrestling.

“I started [writing] it in 2020. I started it when I went on maternity leave, when I was having Roux. And then I’d start, and then I’d stop, and then I’d start, and then I’d stop, and then I’d start, and then I’d stop,” Lynch said. “Then eventually I had a deadline, and then I had to keep going, but I hadn’t reread it and I sent it off. And then I had some trouble with editors until I got to my amazing editor, also Rebecca, and she sent me back questions and stuff, and I got to read it.”

“I was like, ‘Wait a minute, what am I writing? This isn’t this isn’t the book that I want to put out there.’ So then I spent like five weeks, and it was the time when I became the NXT Women’s Champion, where I really started crafting the book and getting it to a point where I’m really proud of. So I say that I started it in 2020, but I really got the bulk of it done in a five-week span.”

A Supportive Husband

Seth Rollins recalled his first-hand experience in seeing Lynch write her book, stating that he’d see Lynch “go in sprints” and then “back off in sprints.” Rollins also noted that Lynch completed a year-long writing class in preparation for writing her autobiography.

“I’ve read it. I ate it up. I thought it was amazing. It’s a great book” Rollins said. “It’s spoken in her voice. She didn’t have a ghostwriter for this, either. Every word in this book is hers, and you can tell when you read it. The stories, all of it, it’s beautiful.”
