Toby Keith – When Was He in TNA Wrestling?

The entire entertainment industry is mourning the loss of popular country singer and songwriter Toby Keith. The musical icon passed away at the age of 62 on February 5th. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Keith had been fighting the disease for several years and announced his diagnosis in 2022. Wrestling fans also have a close connection with the country singer. He has made multiple appearances on a couple of the top wrestling promotions in the world.

Back in 2010, the country singer made an appearance on Monday Night Raw. He had a segment involving The Bella Twins, Santino Marella, and Sheamus. During the segment, he received a custom WWE Championship from the twin sisters. Toby Keith also accompanied the Bella Twins to ringside for a singles match between Marella and Sheamus.

Keith also stepped into the ring and had a taste of the action even before his appearance in WWE. He was part of TNA Wrestling’s first-ever major event. Keith was there initially to perform his song ‘Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue.’

However, he got interrupted by WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett. Following that, Keith managed to get some retribution later in the night in the Gauntlet of The Gold Battle Royal. Keith helped another WWE Hall of Famer, Scott Hall, to eliminate Jarrett from the match.

Keith returned one week later in Hall’s corner for a match against Jarrett. He got involved once again, attacking Jarrett to help Hall pick up the win.

TNA Wrestling also took to Twitter to pay tribute to the late star.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of country music legend Toby Keith – who appeared on the very first TNA event. We offer our condolences to his friends and family,” TNA Wrestling tweeted.
