Ever since signing with WWE, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has been a busy man. He has been able to recruit some of the top stars to the Blue Brand. He’s officially signed stars such as former NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and also former WWE Women’s Tag Team and SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi. He seems to be interested in signing talent from other brands as well.
Super Bowl 58 will be played on Sunday, and the Kansas City Chiefs will be taking on the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of their title game encounter back in 2020. Recently, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was asked during a press conference about what his professional wrestling name would be. Kelce replied by saying that he would call himself The Big Yeti.
WWE on Fox saw an opportunity and took to Twitter to ask Nick Aldis’ thoughts. The SmackDown General Manager replied by stating that he loves Kelce’s energy, but the name needs some work.
“Let’s workshop the name but love the energy,” Nick Aldis tweeted.

Nick Aldis on becoming the General Manager of SmackDown
As mentioned earlier, Aldis is the General Manager of the Blue Brand. Before he came around, Adam Pearce was the one who had been in charge of both Monday and Friday nights. During an interview with the Daily Mail UK, Aldis shared his experience about signing with WWE and how he became the General Manager of the Blue Brand.
“I had no expectations really [when joining WWE]. I had no idea whether or not Hunter [Triple H], had any idea of who I was or what I had done, or what I was capable of doing, and why would he? He’s got a lot going on,” Aldis said. “I think it was in Hershey, it was the night that [John] Cena came back. We were in the production meeting, and Bruce Prichard pulled me out of the meeting and asked me how I was feeling physically because they had an idea for you, for a character. And that was that they didn’t mention anything more about it for a few weeks.
“Suppose at that point, I started thinking logically about what it could be, so I started sort of preparing, and then a few weeks later, he called again and said the SmackDown General Manager, and I was like, “Yes, please, where do I sign?’ It was a very easy deal to get done. I love the prospects. I remember getting off the phone and talking to Mickie [James, Aldis’ wife] about it right away. And she was just like, ‘Oh my God, yes. You’ll be great at that.’”
