Damage CTRL has imploded, as Bayley is set to face IYO SKY at WWE WrestleMania 40.
Bayley won the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble, and she said she would announce her decision regarding her WrestleMania opponent on the February 2 episode of WWE SmackDown. Before it was time for her decision, she overheard IYO SKY saying Bayley was “done” and laughing with Asuka and Kairi Sane.
Later in the show, Bayley came to the ring and discussed her victory. She noted that she wanted to beat one of the best, and that could mean WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. Bayley then turned her attention to her Damage CTRL stablemates, IYO SKY, Asuka, and Kairi Sane, who were in the ring with her. She noted that SKY turned her back on her after she won the title.
Tensions continued to rise before Asuka and Kairi Sane blindsided Bayley. SKY joined in on the assault, but “The Role Model” fought them off with a pipe. She then grabbed a microphone and told IYO that she would see her at WrestleMania.
WWE then confirmed that Bayley will challenge IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40.
