Roman Reigns once again defended his WWE Universal Championship at Royal Rumble. During the show, he was spotted with a special guest.
Fans captured footage of Reigns walking throughout Tropicana Field — the venue of the premium live-event — accompanied by Paul Heyman and a fan, who was later confirmed to be a member of the Make A Wish Foundation. The fan could be seen holding onto Reigns’ shoulder as he stalked through the arena, likely to his suite where he watched the Men’s Royal Rumble.
“We’re talking about that right now”
Reigns successfully defended his title against AJ Styles, LA Knight and Randy Orton at the Royal Rumble. His WrestleMania opponent looks like it could be Cody Rhodes, but that match has not yet been confirmed.
The Rock has been rumored as a potential opponent for Reigns as well. Whether that match happens this year or next is still a topic of speculation. However, The Rock recently said that they’re working on an eventual showdown on his end.
Speaking with Will Cain for FOX News, The Rock was directly asked whether fans would see him face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
“We’re talking about that right now [laughs],” The Rock said. “I like to consider myself a long-gamer, and a builder. So the idea of going up against Roman Reigns and creating, if we were to do something like that, quite possibly, and I mean this respectfully of all the other WrestleManias before us, and keep in mind, I was born into the wrestling business with my grandfather and my dad, my grandfather wrestled for Vince McMahon Sr., back when it was called the WWWF. My dad came along in the 80s, Rocky Johnson, and here I come along.
“So I think with all the success in the build-up of all the WrestleManias in the past, if we were to do something like that, we could possibly put on the biggest WrestleMania of all time. So short answer and long answer is we’re figuring it out.”
