It seems like one potential player can be ruled out in the race to land Mercedes Moné. Plus, she is expected to return soon.
As previously reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW is confident that Mercedes Moné will start with the company soon. Moné had negotiated with WWE, but the two sides remained far apart on money.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Mercedes Monè will be back working in wrestling by March, and it will not be for WWE. Per Johnson, she is planning to visit Japan, but it was said that this visit does not necessarily mean she will be wrestling.
The report notes that Monè is expected to make a nig return in the United States. Per Johnson, it was said that it could not be confirmed if that meant she was AEW-bound. However, when asked, Johnson wrote that he was specifically told she was not TNA-bound.
Mercedes Moné has not wrestled since May 2023, as she suffered an ankle injury at NJPW Resurgence. She later returned to training, but fans have continued to speculate about her future. Moné has been linked to both WWE and AEW in recent months.
