Bayley On Winning Women’s Royal Rumble: It’s Pretty Crazy, What A Ride

Bayley shares her thoughts following her victory in the Women’s Royal Rumble.

On January 27, Bayley outlasted 29 other competitors to win the Women’s Royal Rumble. In doing so, she punched her ticket to WWE WrestleMania 40, as she earned a title shot.

During the WWE Royal Rumble post-show press conference, Graham “GSM” Matthews of Bleacher Report asked Bayley to describe where the win ranked among her accomplishments.

“It’s pretty crazy. I have to tell a lot of the girls that were, their first two rumbles or so, that didn’t last as long or anything, I’m like, trust me, I’ve been there,” Bayley said. “My first Rumble, I think I was number twenty-six, and I was out in like three minutes or something. I’ve been number one and I haven’t won. I’ve been number seventeen or something and haven’t won.

“It’s honestly just such a ride. For me, to then, I don’t want to sound too cheesy, like just hang in there, but from the first Rumble that we’ve had, to one of my first one or two years on the main roster, to now, where we are, it’s all about consistency and just seeing the bigger picture.”

Bayley Comments On WWE’s Women’s Division

Bayley went on to note that she could have given up a long time ago if she got stuck in the challenges the business threw her way. She then noted that the WWE women’s division is so deep that the company didn’t bring in any legends for the Royal Rumble.

“If you get stuck in all the dips and swerves and everything that this business throws at you, I could have never done what I did tonight,” Bayley said. “I could have given up so long ago. So such a difference, man. We have such a different crew. There’s no legends coming in because there’s so many women out there that we need to showcase. So it’s beautiful.”
