Natalya says she believes it is best to keep moving forward when asked about Vince McMahon‘s shocking resignation.
Vince McMahon shocked the wrestling world on January 26 as he resigned from TKO and WWE. The news came one day after it was reported that Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, alleging sexual assault and sex trafficking. A spokesperson for McMahon said the lawsuit was “replete with lies”.
Per Jay Reddick of the Orlando Sentinel, multiple wrestlers opted not to comment directly on the allegations. Natalya provided at least a general response.
“I’ve seen and I’ve read what everybody else has seen and read,” Natalya said. “I feel like at the end of the day the best thing we can do, especially as women in the locker room, is keep moving forward.”
Vince McMahon’s Statement Regarding His Resignation
Dominic Patten of Deadline reported about Vince Mahon’s resignation. In the post, he shared a statement from the former WWE CEO.
“I stand by my prior statement that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth,” Vince McMahon said. “I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name.
“However, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effective immediately.”
A recent report shined a light on the internal reaction to Vince McMahon’s reaction. More information is available here.
