William Regal finally made his return to WWE NXT.
On the January 23 episode of WWE NXT, Ava stepped out of Shawn Michaels’ office. She was followed by former NXT General Manager William Regal. He announced that Ava was the new General Manager of NXT, and he asked her to look after the brand. Regal told Ava that he was only a phone call away if she needed anything.
Regal had been the NXT general manager from 2014 until the NXT 2.0 rebrand in September 2021. The company released him in January 2022. Regal then signed with AEW and debuted at AEW Revolution. He was featured with AEW but left the company at the end of 2022 to return to WWE. The agreement that allowed him to return prevented Regal from appearing on television for a year.
Ava, formerly known as Ava Raine, is the real-life daughter of The Rock. The announcement of her new position came the same day that her father officially joined the TKO Board of Directors. Ava subsequently commented on her new role.
