Gabbi Tuft Starts Training, Steps Back Into A Wrestling Ring For The First Time In A Decade

After more than ten years away from action, Gabbi Tuft has officially stepped back into a professional wrestling ring.

Gabbi Tuft first emerged onto the wrestling scene in 2007, signing with WWE the following year. Tuft, who then performed under the name of Tyler Reks, spent four years with the company before departing in August 2012. Following an independent tag team match with Curt Hawkins in 2014, Tuft retired from the sport. Ten years later, Tuft has now returned to the ring, training alongside Katelyn Borden, the daughter-in-law of WWE Hall of Famer Sting.

In a series of Twitter posts, Tuft shared a glimpse into her training with Borden at the Rhodes Wrestling Academy in Leander, Texas. In one clip, Tuft can be seen running the ropes and positioning Borden into a headlock takedown.

Tuft also thanked Borden for working with her for over two hours on her first day back in the ring.

“There are not enough thank you’s I can give this woman,” Tuft wrote. “@the_jael_ worked with me for over 2 hours on my first day back in the ring. Through all my fumbles and ring rust, she was all about it. Thank you, Katelyn.”

Last month, Tuft spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, revealing that she had previously visited Dustin Rhodes, the header trainer of Rhodes Wrestling Academy, to put out feelers for a potential return to the ring.

While Tuft was initially unsure if she would be able to resume in-ring action due to a prior heart surgery, it seems that doctors have now cleared her to take bumps again.
