Zelina Vega comments on her return to WWE NXT television.
Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT featured the final two opening-round matchups of the 2024 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. One of these contests pitted the LWO’s Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde against Chase U’s Riley Osborne and Duke Hudson. While Osborne and Hudson arrived to the accompaniment of Andre Chase, Wilde, and Del Toro brought along their LWO stablemate Zelina Vega.
Before her ascent to WWE’s main roster in 2018, Vega was a regular fixture on the NXT brand, serving as the on-screen manager for Andrade “Cien” Almas. Following her NXT return on Tuesday night, Vega spoke with Sarah Schreiber in a WWE digital exclusive, expressing her excitement about being back in the NXT environment, especially with her fellow LWO members alongside her.
“It was so good to walk out there. To get a nice little ‘Zelina Vega’ chat was pretty nice,” Vega said. “And to have Puerto Rican flags in the audience, I mean, come on. It felt nice to be home and I got to support my guys here always. We always stick together.
Santos Escobar’s Departure From LWO
Vega also addressed the LWO’s recent fracture, which saw Santos Escobar depart from the group. In the wake of his LWO exit, Escobar formed an alliance with Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza, the latter of whom is one of Vega’s former clients.
“Santos is a green-screen gangster, if we’re really going to talk about it,” Vega said. “Everything that he is is made up and he has no respect. And as far as Angel [Garza] goes, I’m sorry, I don’t really remember anybody that couldn’t make me money. What I will say is that we have bigger things to worry about,” Vega said, referring to Del Toro and Wilde’s upcoming semi-final match against Carmelo Hayes and Trick Hayes. “So now, guys, let’s make sure that the Latino World Order wins the Dusty Cup. Let’s go.”
