Drew McIntyre responds to CM Punk saying that he is not known for his talking.
Drew McIntyre and CM Punk had a heated exchange on the January 8 episode of WWE RAW, and Punk said that McIntyre was not known for his talking. McIntyre later took to social media and sent a message to Punk ahead of the live event on Saturday.
“Guess who’s not here? The same person that claimed on Monday they would lead by example, CM Punk. Don’t be a hypocrite, man. Leading by example would suggest you’re outworking everyone, and we both know that’s not true. I look at you and see the same old Punk. Very big name, very good at ‘here to make money and not friends.’ Your words, not mine. That’s the truth, and that’s okay.
“Check my schedule these last few years. Very few have come close to the amount of live events, TV, media, high-level media you can only trust so many people with, community work, I’m very proud to be a global ambassador for Special Olympics. All that stuff, that’s setting an example, and I do it not because I have to, simply because I love it. Made me change my work outside of WWE. I evolved, grew business everywhere.”
Drew McIntyre Says CM Punk Is Not A Workhorse Anymore
Drew McIntyre continued by noting how he returned to WWE to finish what he started. He noted that Punk may have done the same, and he’s bringing a lot of attention to the company. McIntyre told Punk to own his role and stated that the latter was not much of a workhorse anymore.
“It got to the point where WWE started investing in multiple places where I was champion, and it became clear to me, guess it’s time to go back home and finish what I started as a kid. You, insert big name into company, and gets lot of attention,” Drew McIntyre said. “That’s okay. Just own it. That’s your role. Back in the day, you were a lot of negative things. So many negative things, everybody talked about. You were also a workhorse. Now? Not so much.”
Drew McIntyre Says No One Will Stop Him
Drew McIntyre ended his message by stating that he would eliminate Punk from the Royal Rumble. He declared that no one would stop him from finally getting his moment in front of a live crowd.
“That’s okay. You’ll serve your purpose, and I will eliminate you in the Royal Rumble if we’re both in there together because no one’s gonna stop me from finally having the moment I have earned, especially you,” Drew McIntyre said. “If you’d actually done some research, maybe you wouldn’t have seen something as negative as I’m not known for my talking. Pushed, I can even overshadow the best in the world. Smiling, cheesy Drew is dead. Drew f*cking McIntyre’s back.”
