AEW Battle Of The Belts IX Results (1/13/24): Chris Jericho, Orange Cassidy, More

All Elite Wrestling delivered a star-studded show with AEW Battle of the Belts IX on January 13.

The show will feature three title matches. Orange Cassidy, Chris Jericho, and other stars competed.

AEW Battle Of The Belts IX Results

Street Fight for AEW World Tag Team Championship: Ricky Starks & Big Bill (c) s. Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara

The two teams brawled in the parking lot as soon as the show started. Guevara drove a gold cart into Starks. Bill brought out a brick and threw it, but Guevara moved, so the brick smashed through a car window. Jericho and Guevara suplexed Big Bill onto a car. Starks jammed a plunger into Jericho’s face and slammed him into a loading bay door. Jericho pressed Starks’ head into a printer and made a picture.

Starks slammed Jericho onto a table. Jericho slammed a tray of food into Starks’ face. Guevara vaulted off a wall and kicked Big Bill. He sprayed Bill with a fire extinguisher. Bill got sent head-first into a wall. Jericho squirted mustard into Bill’s face. The fight spilled into the arena. Konosuke Takeshita attacked Jericho, and Bill slammed him through a table. Guevara climbed up onto part of the stage and went to dive onto Starks, but Powerhouse Hobbs pulled him out of the way. Starks pinned Guevara.

Julia Hart Defends The Gold

TBS Championship: Julia Hart (c) vs. Anna Jay

Hart and Jay felt each other out, and they were evenly matched. Hart took control, but Jay fought back. The champion grounded Jay. They headed to the outside, and Hart maintained the advantage. She slammed Jay’s arm onto the steps. Back in the ring, Jay rallied. Hart locked in a sleeper hold, but Jay escaped. Hart gained the upper hand and made Jay tap out.

Winner and still TBS Champion: Julia Hart

Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, and Sonjay Dutt, alongside Karen Jarrett, argued backstage. Jarrett told Lethal to leave. Satnam Singh showed up and offered Lethal some food, which seemingly upset Lethal.

Orange Cassidy Defends The AEW International Title At AEW Battle Of The Belts

AEW International Champion: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Preston Vance

Roderick Strong and the Undisputed Kingdom came to the stage ahead of the bout. Cassidy took the fight to Vance early on. Vance caught him with a kick. Vance hit a diving shoulder block. The challenger dropped Cassidy with a stalling vertical suplex. He trapped Cassidy in a bear hug. Vance continued to control the action as he overpowered Cassidy. The champion rallied and dove onto Vance at ringside. Vance squashed the rally with a spinebuster. Cassidy fired up with some of his signature “strikes” before he unloaded on Vance with a superkick and some stomps.

Vance dropped Cassidy with a cutter. Cassidy dropped him with a spinning DDT. Vance threw Cassidy into the Undisputed Kingdom. He stared down Strong. Cassidy capitalized and got a two-count with a pin attempt. Vance trapped Cassidy in a Full Nelson, but Cassidy escaped. The champion hit the Orange Punch and the Beach Break for the win.

The Undisputed Kingdom confronted Cassidy after the bell. Strong clapped for Cassidy. Jose the Assistant confronted Strong, and the group attacked him.
